The United States Terrain Park Council (USTPC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing an open and transparent venue to exchange information on terrain park design, construction, maintenance, and operation in order to create best practices to maximize user enjoyment while minimizing risk. USTPC membership is open to all principal stakeholders, from ski resort managers, insurance underwriters, professional terrain park design/builder companies to research scientists and engineers to professional skiers/snowboarders.

The USPTC strives to be litigation neutral. Our bylaws bar USTPC Officers and Board members from voluntary participation in snow sport related litigation. This ensures a non-biased decision making process on all "Best Practices" and allows all members an open, academic sharing environment.

In addition, the USTPC aims to assist winter ski resorts, terrain park designers/builders, and their insurance underwriters to purse Best Practices for Terrain Parks through the Smart Parks Certification Program, a program which will inspect and then certify that terrain parks meet the criteria of best practices thereby reducing risk to patrons as well as exposure to the winter ski resorts
